3 questions to Oliver Dlugosch about Open Banking

What’s your take on the development of Open Banking in Europe and worldwide?

The future is connected – especially for banks. Nevertheless, the digital age still leaves question marks in the heads of many market actors especially on how to position their business in future. Quite a challenge – again – especially for banks as the classic bank is becoming more and more outdated. Two options remain: become a specialized supplier with a clear unique selling proposition or turn in to an orchestrator that hosts the variety of individual services. Anyone not living the open banking idea and sticking to non-consumer-focused products will have a hard time soon. With PSD2, the first step has already been made – now banks only have to take the next logical step and rely on partners with the essential know-how they lack themselves.

What does this mean for ndgit and where could you support your customers?

We help banks with their transition into the future. Our solution prevents the great loss of users by providing additional services either integrated or via white label.
Banks can offer their customers all services directly through ndgit’s ecosystem. If desired a bank can even become host of their own branded ecosystem powered by ndgit’s ecosystem builder – a strategically important for the future field where ndgit is already today Europe’s leading technology provider. Launched in Germany, we have now reached a level of significant reach in Switzerland as well.

Where do you see the biggest challenge here?

Europe is increasingly becoming a role model for Open Banking – thanks to pioneers like us. This means growth, growth, growth. We can barely grow fast enough to handle all inquiries. Challenge number one for us is to let ndgit progress fast enough. We are therefore constantly recruiting talents from all sectors and expanding to the UK, France and Spain.

The three most important goals for ndgit 2019

  • – Growth
  • – Expansion
  • – Thought Leadership
